Couples for Christ, India (CFCI), Mangalore Area celebrated the 6th Family Day on the theme
“Behold the Glory of God…!” 2 Corinthians 3:18
, at Shanti Kiran, Bajjodi Mangalore on 20th, September 2009.
Praise Parade marked the start of the program wherein members of the community of different chapters, young and old, dressed up based on the theme, entered the venue, singing chants of Praise and Glory to God, one after another, remarking the time when Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The venue was filled with exhilaration, as everyone welcomed each other for a day of fellowship.
Praise and Worship was then lead by a CFCI Couple, with CFCI Youth Mangalore leading the music ministry.
A screen presentation ‘CFCI Mangalore over the Years’ was then presented by Kenneth and Biron D’Souza which rejuvenated old cherished memories, shared by the community members, as also showed how the mission of the community spread across the Dakshina Kannada district.
“We have to change our lives, and not try to change others”, said Mr. Savio Kenny, CFCI District Servant for the Diocese of Goa & Daman as he shared a message with the congregation gatered. He also encouraged each one to strengthen our relationships with others, and concluded his message, “God has given us this message – Behold the Glory of God, let’s work on it”.
Cultural program from various chapters followed with CFCI Singles, CFCI Kids and CFCI Youth staging variety of cultural programs which were quite entertaining and educating too.
Eucharistic celebration was then celebrated with Fr. Stany Goveas, Vicar General, city varado being main celebrant and co-celebrants as Fr. Santhosh Rodrigues, Director Family Life Services, Mangalore and Fr. Victor D’Mello, Parish Priest, Urwa Church & Spiritual Director of CFCI – Mangalore.
A scrumptious lunch was arranged for all and later a Konkani play “Bokro Baba Bokro” written by Mr. Simon Pinto (CFCI Couple) was staged by the community members.
Everyone joined in for the Praise Fest, praising the Lord by singing and dancing with CFCI Youth Music Ministry and Dance Ministry leading the fest. It was a day of joy and celebration for all the community members, as they shared this bond of family with all the community members.
