“I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go. I will counsel you with my eye upon you” Ps 32:8
This was the theme for a one day Singles program, at Udupi on 17th September 2015.
Named as GAME PLAN, the program sought to introduce the CFCI Singles way of life to the participants. The service team consisted of Singles from Bangalore and Mangalore. There were 50 participants in the program, all hailing from Udupi and around.
The day began with an introduction of the program and the service team by Mr.Leslie Arujao, the Family Comission Head, Udupi Diocese. Following a brief introduction was teaching of a few action hymns, by the music ministry comprising of Joel, Aaron, Raynol, Vincent, Jacob and Gideon.
The first workshop was Multiplayer where the participants were divided into teams and had to race against each other with their legs tied. The workshop aimed at uniting the members towards one goal, despite the difficulties. It was led by Vincent, Joel, and Sheryl. With a small break, the day moved on to the second workshop, which was the Treasure hunt. But unlike a usual hunt, there were many hidden tasks which tested the Good Samaritan qualities within each participant. The message was simple, there are many hidden treasures, provided you are dedicated towards helping those in need. This workshop was led by Maria, Kelvin, Delora and Jacob. With another revision of Action songs with the participants dancing in full vigour, the forenoon session came to an end.
Following the lunch was the last workshop for the day, where the groups had to complete tasks with all the people present. This workshop saw participants recognizing each other’s strength to use it for good. This workshop was led by Marina, Aaron, Joel and Raynol.
The day ended with the Bishop of Udupi Diocese, Rev. Fr. Gerald Isaac Lobo addressing the participants. Mr.Leslie Arujao spoke on the upcoming CLS for singles in Udupi, and encouraged the participants to attend the same. The finale was the Praise Fest where everyone joined in praising and thanking God for the wonderful day it had been. The Game Plan really did work.
