The Couples for Christ India (CFCI) – Youth Porvorim organized a three day Youth Camp from the 26th to the 28th of April at Casa Pallotti, Assagao. The camp was attended by thirty youth from Porvorim and neighbouring areas, and their response was truly welcoming which made it all the more exciting.
The programme started off with an orientation for the parents, followed by an introduction to the camp’s theme ‘S.A.V.E.D- Sanctified And Victorious Each Day‘. The Music Ministry led the Praise and Worship and taught a few action songs and conducted an ice-breaker that helped the participants to become familiar and know each other better.
The first session was on ‘God’s Love and His plan for Us‘, through which many realized the importance of God’s presence in our lives and how immensely He loves us. Followed by the second session ‘Who is Jesus Christ to me?’, which emphasized how Jesus is calling us to get to know Him better and to have a closer relationship with Him. The third session ‘Repentance, Faith, Healing and Forgiveness’ highlighted that when we sin, we weaken our bond with God, but when in faith we repent for our sinfulness, we receive the promise of His forgiveness. At the end of the session, the participants were given some time to examine their consciousness, before going for confessions.
The next session ‘Receiving God’s Gift: The Power of The Holy Spirit’- shed light on how the Holy Spirit works individually in our lives and the ‘Seven Gifts of The Holy Spirit’. The final session of the Camp ‘Growing in the Spirit’, explained how we can sustain the newfound relationship we established with God and how we can grow in the Spirit as Christians. After all the talks a pray over was conducted, invoking the power of the Holy Spirit upon the participants; subsequently, the participants shared their enriching experiences.
All the sessions were very interactive and the participants were very receptive to all of the sessions. At the end of every talk Group Discussions were held in which various aspects highlighted during the talk were discussed. The entire camp experience would not have been complete without fun and games. Several games were played throughout the camp, during which the youngsters participated actively, with much enthusiasm. The youth also energetically danced and sang along to many action and worship songs.
The entire Youth camp was co-ordinated by our formators Tito Orlando and Tita Sandra Mascarenhas, who looked after every minute detail; and backed by the camp leaders and a vibrant service team. The entire programme ended with a beautiful interaction between the participants and their parents followed by Mass, Praise Fest and Fellowship.
