"I can do all things through him who gives me strength."
~ Philippians 4:13
In life, while we battle through different challenges every day, there is a need deep within our natural human instinct to be desirous of praise from that special person. For most of us, it’s our fathers from whom we wait for that word that would define our worth on this planet.

Many wonder why we in CFCI have made a commitment to live as a Covenant Community.
God is a community of three persons living in Eternal Unity and Communion of Love. We are created purely to share in this eternal communion of Love. Community is God's desire for us. Individualism is not part of God's design. Everyone: Youth, Single or Married, needs community.

Today, many view the rosary as monotonous, but I have experienced it as renewal for an indifferent heart and a guide for a fruitful life.
In my younger days, I was indifferent towards the sacred mysteries. Every time my family would gather for the rosary, I would feel hungry or sleepy or sometimes both. My mother almost always gave in. During my college days, I kept hearing more about Mama Mary and the rosary. I once tried reciting the entire rosary and it felt pretty good. But I knew if I had to do this every day, it would get monotonous.

Some people are so foolish that they think they can go through life without the help of the Blessed Mother. Love the Madonna and pray the rosary, for her rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. All graces are given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.
~ St Padre Pio
We live in dark times. As St. John Paul the Great rightly predicted in 1979, the cultural climate of the world today is anti-catholic; the morals, values, traditions and beliefs that were held as truth for centuries together are now being viewed as backward, rigid and even hateful.

It had been just four months since I joined the community when one of the singles who were part of the CFCI Kids Segment contacted me to ask if I was available to help out with the kid's program while their parents attend a retreat. I was a bit reluctant because I don’t get along with kids that well. To add to this, she asked me to give them teaching on Mother Mary and the Holy Rosary.

Working as an ENT surgeon makes me come in contact with a lot of patients suffering from head and neck cancers. Many of them are middle-aged and have far advanced cancers thus having very few years ahead of them. On spending time talking to them, most have regrets. Some of the common ones include:
- I wish I pursued my dreams and aspirations and not what others expected of me.
- I wish I had spent more time with my family and friends.
- I wish I had the courage to express my feelings and speak my mind.
- I wish I had not fallen prey to this addiction (smoking, pan chewing) and ruined my life.

Judas had been called personally by the Lord, followed him for three years, heard him preach and teach; had seen him walk on water, still stormy seas, feed thousands with five breads and two fish, raise three people from the dead, heal on countless occasions the sick, blind and lame and have mercy on countless sinners. He had even received from the Lord, the power to do many of these same things himself and had been entrusted by Him with the money bag for the twelve. (Fr. Roger J. Landry)
Judas had a master who was in no way a dictator, but rather was the most compassionate and loving man to walk this earth. What went wrong then? Why did Judas betray the most loving man to ever live?

As we conclude the season of Advent and with it, all the joys of Christmas it brings, it is important we ask ourselves what the real meaning of Christmas is?
Is it the gifts under the tree?, the lights in the windows?, the cards in the mail?, turkey dinners with family and friends?, stockings hanging in the living room?, shouts of “Merry Christmas” to those who pass us in the streets?, the Christmas Parties?
Is this really Christmas?

We live in such a fast-paced world, that everybody we meet seems busy doing something or trying to get somewhere. Most of us barely have time for ourselves let alone for others and certainly not for God. We are so busy working, trying to succeed and please everybody around us that we are left with little if any time to please God.
As a young surgeon, time is of utmost importance to me; so is my relationship with God. Thus, I ensure that I find ways to squeeze everything that is important to me into the day, without forgetting time for prayer and God.
