We were just getting over the hospitalization episodes of our daughter Hannah, 2 years old, in the month of August and our son Joshua, 4 years old, in the month of September. We were beginning to enjoy and make memories with our newborn Pete. Joshua’s school had just reopened after the Dussehra holidays and he returned home with a cough. It got worse by the end of the day and Hannah too contracted the illness.

Our life changed in a blink of an eye when we were at a birthday party and our little baby got her first seizure. We called 911 and we were taken to the ER. We were sent home with a diagnosis of syncope (fainting) or an absence seizure. We were unaware that this trip to the hospital was going to be a regular affair for us in the coming months.

It was the 9th of February, 2019. My wife Sharel, 4year old daughter Andrea, 3month old son Aiden and I set out to Mangalore at dawn. As we were driving at around 8.30am we found ourselves in a life-threatening situation. Our car was at a high speed on the Hassan highway with my wife driving. All of a sudden, she dozed off, probably due to the fatigue of the previous night with the baby. I too was exhausted after work. Before we knew what was happening, our car toppled multiple times on the road before it came to a halt.

God’s Mercy and His Love
In 2015, I went to my native to visit my family after 3 years. During my stay, I was a victim of a robbery.
I was going to the embassy for a visa application and on my way, a person came to me asking for help. The person spoke in English and asked me about a place I didn't know and he was insisting on it. I had my bag with me and in it, I had my laptop, passport, yellow card, diploma certificate, other certificates and all the necessary documents required for the visa application.

Was Lost but now Found
Before joining CFCI I didn't really know how to pray. I wanted to, but I didn't have anyone to guide me. I used to treat God more like a shopkeeper. I would only turn to him to ask for favours, and even if I would pray a little, I felt I was doing God a favour.
While I was in Goa, I was shy to pray in front of family or anyone else. Even when I would go for retreats I would never be able to close my eyes, but I would laugh at the others praying. If anything would go wrong in my life, I would end up blaming God for it and felt it was useless to pray.

these two verses struck my life like a lightning bolt. Yes, the impact was like a machine tool punching the workpiece with great force. And I say this because I experienced God in my engineering life!
Trust me guys, I was so fed up of this so-called engineering life, that I almost tried to take my life in every possible way!

He is Faithful
I have been in this community for the past 8 years, starting from a youth to being single. Learning to grow strong in faith from the testimonies of others is what worked for me. Giving God the first priority in all we do, can turn into miraculous events.
As a student, giving God time during exams is one of the most difficult choices. When I chose to attend prayer meetings despite having major exams, God chose to keep my faith by making me stand first in the subject I had never stood first at before. And after that, I didn’t use my examinations as a reason to skip meetings.
