A youth intake camp was organized by CFCI Youth, Panjim under the guidance of the youth formators and appointed team leaders. ‘Ignite‘ was held at Lar des Estudantes, Altinho from 26th to 28th of May 2017. Weeks of planning and preparation culminated in a three day bonanza of faith, fun and fellowship.
Before the camp began, a short camp team praise and worship was held followed by registration of the participants. They were formally welcomed and introduced to the team, a time of fellowship took place as games were held and a couple of action songs were taken. The first session was on ‘God’s Love and His Plan for us‘. Group discussions followed. Worship songs were then taught. The second talk spoke about who Jesus is to us and what it is to have a personal relationship with Him, which was again followed by group discussions. That night we had a walking rosary around the streets of Altinho, which was a memorable experience. Day 1 was rounded off with bath, dinner and more games.
Day 2 began early with songs followed by a short talk on personal prayer after which the participants prayed and reflected on scripture. A session on ‘Sin, Repentance, Faith, Forgiveness and Healing‘ was then given followed by a wonderful Inner Healing session. After lunch there were 1 to 1 discussions between the group leader and each of his/her members. A talk on what confession is all about was given and confessions for the participants rounded off the afternoon. The Holy Spirit was the subject of the next session with a mini group discussion. The participants were then taught how to free praise after which they had their first praise and worship. An unforgettable pray-over for the participants followed, with the Holy Spirit working His wonders in us all. The night was truly memorable too as fellowship continued, with a huge bonfire outside, around which a few activities were conducted and a Talent Show was put up by some of the participants.
Day 3 began with personal prayer time and breakfast. Praise and Worship came next. The final session was given ‘Growing in The Spirit‘. In the ensuing group discussion participants were asked if they’d like to join the community and attend meetings to which we got a very encouraging response. There was a time of fellowship followed by participants writing letters to their parents. Soon after lunch, the parents started trickling in to meet their children, and catch up with them, as well as exchange letters. A lively mass celebrated in the chapel for the parents and kids followed by a Praise Fest in the hall.
Such an amazing camp could only have gone so well by the Grace of God. The camp was a success as many sacrificed and worked hard, the CFCI Couples prayed over the camp team, the CFCI Singles took time out to review the talks and helped out during camp.
